  • Kathleen Faries
    Head of Bermuda

    Kathleen Faries is Head of Bermuda for Tokio Millennium Re AG, Bermuda Branch. Kathleen joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in December 2007.

    Prior to her current position, Kathleen was CEO of Tokio Solution Management Ltd. She led the start-up of Tokio Solution and TMR owned Shima Re. She is currently Chair of the Tokio Solution Management Ltd. board and a member of the board of Shima Re. Kathleen has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance field including broking into the US, London and Bermuda markets as well as developing and managing captive insurance companies.

    Kathleen graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in communications studies. She also holds an Associate in Reinsurance Designation. Kathleen serves on the board of the Bermuda Insurance Institute (BII), Women in Reinsurance (WiRe) and the ILS Bermuda Organization as a founding member.  

  • Edwin Jordan
    Head of Capital Solutions

    Ed Jordan is Head of Capital Solutions for Tokio Millennium Re AG. Ed is responsible for managing the net retained portfolio of TMR by using traditional products as well as developing innovative methods of risk transfer. Ed joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in February 2002 and has had held numerous roles in underwriting and ERM. 

    Prior to joining TMR, Ed was an underwriter with Scandinavian Re and a consulting actuary in Bermuda and Chicago with Ernst & Young. He also worked with the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

    Ed graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master of Accounting Science and a Master of Science in actuarial science. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Certified Public Accountant.

  • Christopher Taylor
    Head of IT

    Chris Taylor joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) as Chief Information Officer in October 2009. Chris manages the IT business unit and has over 25 years of information technology experience in a broad range of technical disciplines.

    Prior to joining TMR, Chris held the positions of Chief Information Officer of Endurance Worldwide Reinsurance in Bermuda, Chief Information Officer of ACE Tempest Re Group and Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives with ACE Insurance Company of North America.

    Chris graduated from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Science with double honours in computer science and physics.

  • Tsuyoshi Harigai
    Head of Operations

    Tsuyoshi (Harry) Harigai is Head of Operations of Tokio Millennium Re AG, Bermuda Branch. He joined the Tokio Marine Group in 1995 and was appointed to his current position in July 2013. Harry's primary responsibility as Head of Operations is to provide strategic leadership for the Bermuda operation through collaboration with the global executive team.

    Harry started his career in the international insurance and reinsurance business as a reinsurance underwriter in 1999 and he has been involved in this field since then. He has played crucial roles in the setup of subsidiaries and in M&A activities.

    Harry holds a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from Waseda University, Japan.

  • Stephen O'Flynn
    Head of Underwriting

    Stephen O’Flynn is Head of Underwriting for Tokio Millennium Re AG (TMR), Bermuda Branch. He joined TMR in July 2011. Stephen is responsible for all lines of business within the Bermuda branch in addition to the speciality casualty lines of business for TMR, specifically in professional liability. He is involved in building, pricing and underwriting the Company’s portfolio; conducting risk analysis; producing, building and maintaining broker and client relationships; structuring innovative reinsurance contracts and portfolio management.

    Prior to joining TMR, Stephen was Vice President, International Professional and Casualty Treaty Underwriter at Allied World Reinsurance Company. Prior to Allied World, Stephen was Second Vice President, Specialty Treaty Underwriting at General Reinsurance Corporation.

    Stephen has a Bachelor of Science in business management and administration with a minor in economics. He is also a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU).

  • Meredith Head
    Senior Vice President
    Property Catastrophe

    Meredith Head is Senior Vice President, Property Catastrophe. Meredith joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in August 2008 as Vice President, Property Catastrophe. She is involved with the pricing and underwriting of the US and international portfolio of property catastrophe business.

    Meredith came to TMR from PartnerRe Ltd. where she gained 11 years of experience underwriting US and Canadian property catastrophe business.

    Meredith graduated from Tufts University in Boston where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology. She also holds an MBA in risk management from the College of Insurance (St. John’s University) in New York.

  • Victoria Cunningham
    Assistant Vice President
    Specialty Lines

    Victoria Cunningham is Assistant Vice President, Specialty Lines. Victoria joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in April 2010. Her current responsibilities include underwriting the US workers' compensation catastrophe and terrorism books. Prior to this, she was responsible for underwriting the excess casualty portfolio and worked on professional lines and medical malpractice accounts within the specialty casualty team.

    Prior to joining TMR, Victoria worked for Kirkway International, an independent reinsurance intermediary in Bermuda, where she assisted with providing excess insurance and reinsurance solutions to both traditional insurance companies and alternative risk vehicles.

    Victoria graduated from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom where she received a Bachelor of Science in geography. She is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).

  • Zaira Jones
    Assistant Vice President
    Property Catastrophe

    Zaira Jones is Assistant Vice President, Property Catastrophe. Zaira joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in December 2005. She is responsible for underwriting the US and international property reinsurance portfolio. Prior to her present role, she was a catastrophe analyst responsible for vendor modelling, DFA and pricing of TMR's worldwide property treaty business.

    Before joining TMR, Zaira worked at Colonial Insurance Company as an international portfolio manager for the International Health Individual and Group Insurance.

    Zaira graduated from McGill University, Montreal with a Bachelor of Arts in industrial relations. She is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), and holds the AIR Institute Certified Catastrophe Modeler Designation (CCM).

  • Christopher Carpol
    Assistant Vice President
    Underwriting

    Christopher Carpol is Assistant Vice President, Underwriting. Chris is responsible for managing and underwriting the excess casualty portfolio as well as all specialty casualty lines that are written by Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in Bermuda.

    Chris joined TMR in June of 2008.  Together with the Property Catastrophe team, he was involved with underwriting and pricing of worldwide treaties. He transitioned to casualty underwriting in 2012 when TMR began expanding its appetite into this line of business. Prior to joining TMR, Chris was a personal insurance underwriter at Colonial Group International, located in Bermuda.

    Chris holds designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), and an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).

  • Brian Espie
    Assistant Vice President
    Underwriting

    Brian Espie is Assistant Vice President, Property Catastrophe. He is responsible for underwriting the US and international portfolio of property catastrophe business. Brian joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in April 2014 with the Analysis team where he was involved with portfolio management and pricing of worldwide treaties.

    Brian came to TMR after spending eight years with Tokio Marine Technologies in Duluth, Georgia. During that time, he supported pricing, research, and product development for several members of the Tokio Marine Group including TMR at its branches in Bermuda, Zurich, and London.

    Brian graduated from Emory University in Atlanta where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Economics and Film Studies. He is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and holds the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation.

  • Andrew Johnson
    Assistant Vice President
    Underwriting

    Andrew Johnson is Assistant Vice President, Underwriting. Drew joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in December of 2010. His current responsibilities include managing, pricing and underwriting the North American agriculture portfolio, as well as the pricing and underwriting of North American property catastrophe business. Prior to his present role, he was responsible for modeling and pricing of the specialty catastrophe line of business including agriculture, workers’ compensation, and terrorism.

    Prior to joining TMR, Drew worked for Risk Management Solutions, one of the world's leading catastrophe risk modeling companies, where he was a member of the North American intermediary team responsible for the relationship management, product training and customer support for RMS’ reinsurance broker clients.

    Drew graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Risk Management. He also has the Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA) designation.

  • Sean Kelly
    Assistant Vice President
    Underwriting

    Sean Kelly is Assistant Vice President, Underwriting.  Sean joined Tokio Millennium Re (TMR) in 2011.  Sean is responsible for underwriting and managing the credit and financial products portfolio for TMR.  Prior to this, he was responsible for building models and pricing for the specialty lines including agriculture, terror, workers’ compensation and credit related business.  Sean also has experience underwriting global agriculture.

    Sean is a CFA with extensive experience as a financial analyst and portfolio manager spanning capital markets in the US, Europe and Asia with a focus on managing relative value and arbitrage strategies in interest rate, credit and derivative products.  He is also a qualified CA/CPA.  Sean began his professional career as a CA at PriceWaterhouseCoopers auditing and consulting in the financial services and reinsurance industry.
