One of Tokio Millennium Re Ltd.’s aims is to create new markets. We are accomplishing this by assisting investment funds in assuming insurance risk. Typically we achieve this by selling a reinsurance contract and buying protection from the investment fund in the form of a derivative. We are therefore transforming the form of the risk from reinsurance to a derivative.
